Laying sod correctly gives your home an instant green lawn. For new homes, sod is a quick way to transform a bare area into an attractive new lawn that looks like it’s always been there.

Aeration allows for a better flow of air, water and nutrients in condensed, compressed soil, which relieves soil compaction by improving the exchange of water and critical nutrients to grass roots. But it is important to know when and where to aerate in order to make it as effective as possible.

Pieces of grass die and gather just above the soil, this is called thatch. While some thatch can be beneficial, sometimes it builds up too fast for natural processes to break it down quickly. This can create a situation where moisture and air can’t reach the grass that needs it.
